FACILITY
Cherry Knoll Farm is a historic property, sitting atop a hill overlooking a breathtaking scene of thousands of acres of prime Bluegrass countryside. Built in 1855, the four-bedroom house has been carefully restored to its original Greek Revival style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Staff lives on site to provide 24-hour care to our resident horses. The farm is conveniently located 15 minutes from the Kentucky Horse Park and 20 minutes from the Lexington Blue Grass Airport. For our out-of-town clients and horse shoppers, we are glad to be able to offer accommodations at the main house.
The new Avalon equestrian facility at Cherry Knoll Farm, completed in 2020, includes a 20-stall barn, 80x220 attached indoor arena, 120x220 outdoor arena, equine treadmill, and extensive grass pastures. The arenas have meticulously maintained GGT footing. The barn features a rider's lounge which offers clients a view into the indoor arena, so clients are able to watch lessons and riders while enjoying the various amenities. The office, lounge, tack room, and bathroom are all equipped with climate control, and the cross-ties have radiant heaters. Stalls are designed with the horse's comfort in mind, where each stall has an airy European stall front, large window, video camera, automatic fly spray system, fan, and automatic waterer.
